Lemon Myrtle has been used by the Indigenous people of Australia as a bush food for over 40,000 years.  They also used it as a natural remedy for their health and medicinal applications too!  

This made me take a closer look into Lemon Myrtle and I found that it has amazing benefits in skincare for mature, or oily skin!

Lemon Myrtle works as an astringent to help tighten pores too.  It reduces irritations with its antibacterial properties so this oil can assist with skin infections, wounds and acne.

The essential oil is distilled from the leaves of the tree, otherwise known as Backhousia Citidora which is actually native to Queensland and New South Wales, Australia.

So as Lemon Myrtle is useful for helping to clear annoying pimples and acne from the face and body it also helps with keeping the skin clean and reducing the amount of oil that is produced by the skin which I find intriguing! 🤩

The anti-microbial and anti-inflamitory properties of Lemon Myrtle are excellent for killing the bugs which are causing the pores to get infected and reducing the inflammation which they cause.
